Using Financial Statement Formatting

Net•Yield provides a standard format balance sheet and income statement. The internal standard formats for these reports cannot be modified by a user. You can, however, change a "cloned" version of these formats (which the system names Format 01 or Net•Yield - NETYIELD depending on the version used to create your system) or create your own custom income statement or balance sheet reports.

You can also create other financial reports based on the fields available from the income statement, such as a customized Cost of Goods Report.

The Financial Statement Formatting option is used to allow you to build these alternate printing formats for income statements, balance sheets and custom reports (for revenue and expense accounts) that you may wish to create.

When you first enter into the Financial Statement Formatting option, a Select An Option window appears, allowing you to EXIT the process, or work on a BALANCE SHEET format, an INCOME STATEMENT format, or a CUSTOM type of format--another financial report (based on Income and Expense accounts) that you may wish to create.

Select the type of report you wish to work on. You will then be presented with a Select An Option window which will allow you to ADD a new report format or select from a list of existing formats of that type within the system. Once you have created a Financial Statement format you can select it and change, print, or void it.

Note: Net•Yield creates a clone, or a copy of its internal standard Balance Sheet and Income Statement formats for you to customize, rename and use. It names these report formats "Format 01" (i.e: Format 01 - Balance Sheet, or Format 01 - Income Statement or Net•Yield - NETYIELD, depending on the software version used to create your system).
